MISS EAST COLUMBUS HIGH SCHOOL 2025 | SENIOR SESSION GIFT
FROM JUDGE TO PHOTOGRAPHER
For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a pageant judge for East Columbus High School in Lake Waccamaw, NC.
This year, I wanted to give back in a new way by gifting the winner of Miss East Columbus High School 2025 a senior photography session. The crown went to Tamira, a student whose confidence, kindness, and talent impressed everyone.
Photographing her senior session was an absolute joy, and each part of the day celebrated her story.
Starting with the Crown
We began with Tamira wearing her sash and crown as Miss East Columbus High School. These portraits honored the title she worked so hard for and marked the beginning of her senior year in a meaningful way.
School Spirit and Athletics
Next, she changed into her cheer uniform, a nod to her time on the sidelines supporting her school. I also incorporated track equipment, highlighting her achievements as a student-athlete. These photos capture not just who she is now, but also the dedication she has shown throughout her high school years.
Senior Pride with Friends
Tamira then put on her East Columbus High School senior shirt and was joined by a few of her close friends. These group photos radiated joy, connection, and the kind of memories that made senior year so special.
Lake Waccamaw Heritage and Growth
From there, we headed to a beautiful spot at Lake Waccamaw, surrounded by old pecan trees and open fields. Tamira wore her new college shirt, Fayetteville State University, celebrating her next chapter. She then changed into a handmade native skirt sewn by her grandmother, along with her traditional moccasins, a heartfelt tribute to her roots and family heritage.
Sunset on the Water
As the sun began to set, we made our way to a quiet pier overlooking the glassy water of Lake Waccamaw. The sky was painted in soft pinks and blues as Tamira stepped into a flowing white dress. To finish the session with a splash (literally!), she stepped into the water, laughing and twirling as the lake reflected the colors of the sunset. It was the perfect conclusion to a day filled with joy, meaning, and beauty.
Tamira’s senior session wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was a celebration of everything she has accomplished, the community that has shaped her, and the exciting future that lies ahead. From crown and sash to water and sunset, each moment told her story in a way that was authentically her.
