What Are mini Sessions?
Mini session are short, back-to-back photography sessions held on a specific date and location. They are ideal for families, couples, or individuals wanting beautiful photos without committing to a full-length session. Each mini includes a set time slot, number of images, and a quick turnaround.

FAQ
what is required to book
To book your mini session:
- Choose your preferred available time slot.
- Pay the non-refundable retainer - 50% of the total session fee.
- Sign the contract.
- Answer the questionnaire.
Your session is not officially booked until all three steps are complete.
Can I cancel or reschedule my mini session?
Because mini sessions are date-specific and held back-to-back, rescheduling is not an option.
- Cancellations: Retainers are non-refundable. If you cancel, you forfeit your retainer.
- No-shows: Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded under any circumstances.
You have the option to gift your spot to another person if needed—a notification to me, the photographer, is required.
Will I be reminded of my mini session?
Absolutely! Reminders will be provided a week in advance as well as one day prior to your scheduled mini session.
How many people can I bring to my mini session?
For mini sessions, there is a maximum of five people per session; this includes children.
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. My editing process for mini sessions typically takes 2-3 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required. I prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?
If poor weather conditions occur and your mini session is scheduled at an outdoor location, I will notify you in advance that the session is to be rescheduled at no additional cost to you.
If you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date and cannot provide a replacement to fill the spot, please notify me.
What Should I Wear?
I want you to feel confident and fully prepared for your session; that’s why every client receives a custom mini session prep guide after booking.
This guide includes:
- What to Wear Tips: Suggestions for outfits that photograph beautifully, including seasonal inspiration, and styling tips for families and couples.
- Session Vibe & Expectations: A quick breakdown of what to expect from your session, how to arrive prepared, and how to make the most of your time.
- Helpful Reminders: Arrival time, what to bring, how to coordinate with others, and little details that help your session go smoothly.
Whether you're aiming for cozy and casual or dressed-up and editorial, I’m here to help guide you. Feel free to reach out with outfit ideas; I’m happy to offer feedback!
What Happens If I'm Late?
Mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back and run on a strict timeline. If you arrive late, that time will be deducted from your session, and your session will still end at the originally scheduled time. This ensures every client receives their reserved time slot and keeps the day running smoothly. Unfortunately, no extra time or refunds can be given for tardiness, so please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in and settle in.
What if I need more time than the mini sessions allows?
If you’re interested in a more personalized or extended session, I’d love to work with you! Full sessions are available year-round and offer more flexibility in time, location, and image count.
For more information, see the link for The Glimpse and The Story Packages Here.
Why are retainers non-refundable?
Mini sessions are limited and sell out quickly. Your retainer holds your spot and ensures others cannot book it. This policy helps me plan and serve all clients fairly and professionally.
how should I prepare for my mini session?
Mini sessions move quickly, so a little preparation goes a long way! Once you book, you’ll receive a Mini Session Prep Guide with everything you need to feel ready and confident, but here are a few quick tips:
- Arrive early: Please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before your time slot to avoid feeling rushed and to ensure we stay on schedule.
- Dress with intention: Choose outfits you feel great in and that reflect the tone of the session. I’ll send you styling tips and color suggestions in your guide.
- Keep it simple: Bring only what you need. Mini sessions are short and sweet, so the less to carry, the better.
- Be relaxed and open: Come ready to have fun, be yourself, and enjoy the moment. I’ll guide you through natural posing and prompts to make things easy and comfortable.
If you’re bringing little ones, snacks, water, or a favorite toy can help make the experience smoother.
What if my family won't cooperate?
As a photographer, I always do my best to create a calm, fun atmosphere and to engage everyone, especially little ones, in a natural, playful way. That said, every child (and adult!) is different, and how someone responds during a session is something I can’t fully control.
Crying, shyness, big emotions, or moments of resistance can happen, particularly with younger children, and this is always a possibility with any session, especially mini sessions where time is limited.
I recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow everyone to settle in, bringing a small snack or comfort item if helpful, and doing your best to stay relaxed and positive. Your energy truly sets the tone.
If things don’t go perfectly, please know you’re not alone. While I will always make the most of the time we have, reshoots or refunds are not offered due to uncooperative behavior, as this is an inherent risk when booking a session.
Often, the candid, in-between moments, the giggles, snuggles, and imperfect interactions end up being the most meaningful and cherished images.
